CARLOTA PEREZ DE CASTRO
Estudio del color
Carlota is an abstract painter. Her works function as portals into the interior, using emotion as a pictorial tool. Automatic writing condenses the rhythm, friction, and pulse of thought, translating them into the painterly gesture. The mark continues to write through the body. Chance, through the fluidity of acrylic, emerges as a metaphor for life: it can be guided, but never fully controlled.
And She's My Brush
And She Is My Brush is a collaborative project by Spanish artists Carlota Pérez de Castro and her former partner, artist Borja Colom Bofarull. Created during a month-long residency in a 14th-century castle, the project explores love and intimacy as acts of artistic creation.
Through a ten-minute conceptual audiovisual piece and four large-format canvases, the artists transform the body, gesture and emotional connection into a language of painting, blurring the boundaries between artist and subject, control and surrender.
The project reflects on love as a creative force, and on the body as an instrument of artistic expression.
