Carlota's works function as portals inward, using emotion as a pictorial tool. Automatic writing condenses rhythm, abrasion, and the pulse of thought, and is carried into the painted gesture. The mark continues to write from the body. Chance, through the fluidity of acrylic, appears as a metaphor for life: it can be guided, but not controlled.
